About the Committee:
The Cultural Affairs Committee strives to connect the GW student body
to various cultural events on campus. The committee focuses on helping
other student organizations with their events and ideas, from the
Jewish Student Association to the Muslim Student Association, or better
yet both! Being a connection for these two groups with their fall
event, IFTAR, as well as many other groups helps make GW students aware
and CULTURED! An event unique to the Cultural Affairs Committee is the
Cultural Block Party, where the committee teams up with other student
organizations, primarily the Greek Community, to have a fun-filled day
of food, dance, music, and art representing regions and cultures from
around the world.
About the Chair: Monica Sanchez is a senior majoring in International Affairs with a
minor in Economics. New to program board, but excited to get involved
in GW activities! I will be serving as Cultural Affairs chair this year
and can't wait to bring some great culturific programs to GW! I enjoy
live music, films of all sorts, and unexpected adventures. I tend to
use words in odd funny ways and turn them into creations such as "Sexio
Hotpantsio, or Skketch McSketcherson." I can also teach you how to be a
dragon, just ask! ;)
